  1. Confirm the indication — perineal repair, amputation stump care, plaster cast or limb surgery.
  2. Make the bottom of the bed as usual with a mackintosh and draw sheet over the area at risk.
  3. Divide the top bedding into two separate sections instead of one continuous cover.
